The preferred way to replace missing teeth
Have you lost one or more of your teeth? Are you having difficulty chewing? Are you tired of your dentures or partial? Would you like a permanent replacement that looks, feels and functions like your natural teeth?
If you answered “Yes” to any of those questions, you should consider dental implants. Unlike a bridge or a partial denture that is anchored to adjacent teeth, a dental implant is a titanium “root” inserted into the jawbone to anchor the new tooth. The actual tooth part of the implant is a dental crown called a restoration. These porcelain crowns are secured to the titanium root using a special connector called an abutment.
Nothing is closer to your natural teeth than dental implants
Once in place and fully healed (usually three to six months after implant placement), dental implants and restorations look, feel and function just like your own natural teeth. Many patients who have had experience with both dentures and dental implants say they much prefer implants for replacing their missing teeth. By avoiding the need to cut down adjacent teeth for conventional bridgework, dental implants offer the added advantage of replacing teeth without harming adjacent teeth.
